On 2 April 2021, for the first time in its history, the Ferrari Challenge Europe obtained ISO 20121 certification, the international standard for sustainable event management, issued by the certification body TÜV NORD Italia. It thus became the first European one-make championship certified under the ISO 20121 sustainable event management system.
The certification for the Ferrari Challenge - awarded in March 2022 ahead of the 30th anniversary season of the Prancing Horse single-marque series - has been renewed for the 2023 season which is set to get underway in Europe and will feature seven race weekends with the final round to be held at the Mugello Circuit in October, on the occasion of the Ferrari Finali Mondiali.
The standard applies in the planning and realisation of the Championship. It is a testament to Ferrari SpA – Ente Attività Sportive GT’s commitment to implementing a responsible management system, integrating it with the five pillars of the Ferrari Group’s sustainability strategy.
Environmental, social, and economic impact characteristics were analysed, also to involve and influence all stakeholders (employees, suppliers, circuits, consultants, drivers, teams/dealers, guests, media, sponsors, and the local community).
In addition, Ente Attività Sportive GT wanted to explicitly refer to the broader United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in its sustainability policy.
